Finding Jesus

It isn’t always easy to find your path, especially when you don’t know exactly what it is you are looking for. If you need the perfect example of that, you can consider my story. I was someone who was lost on the path of life, not knowing quite where to look. But after finding Jesus, I was able to get on the path that led me to a road of glory that has now changed my life.

Throughout my life, I never had the right direction or understanding of where to go. Because of this, I often found myself in places that I was uncomfortable with, and that I knew I shouldn’t have been in. I guess you could say that I ran with the wrong circles, which resulted in me making plenty or wrong decisions. Those decisions hurt everyone around me, even though at the time I didn’t realize it.

I would say that I was one of the lucky ones. Despite some of my poor decisions, I was still able to go to college and earn a degree. However, I quickly learned that school and education was the path that I was on for so much of my life. Therefore, when I graduated, it wasn’t long before I lost my way and started hanging out in the “wrong” circles again. Without school, I didn’t know where to look. That is, until I found Jesus.

Finding Jesus will always be thought of as the turning point in my life that changed the way I looked at things. Before I began a relationship with Jesus, my life was driven primarily on my own goals and aspirations, without concerns for others around me. However, finding Jesus has taught me that it’s not all about me, which has made me a better friend, family member and person in society. I now strive to please those around me and ensure that my actions do not hurt others, while also praising my Heavily Father.

More than just teaching me to be a better person, it gave me direction in life. It gave me a solid rock that I could rely on and depend on, when all else around me was failing. This was incredibly important after finishing college, since school had been the only thing that I could rely on for such a long period of time. In periods that I had nothing else to see and was losing hope, my religion has now become something that is always there for me and lights my path in life. Finding Jesus showed me that while I may not always see the path immediately, it is always there and it will be there for as long as I keep walking in the right direction.

For those that have yet to find Jesus, do not give up hope. The relationship that people build with Jesus comes at different times for everyone. If I thought that, at 22 years of age, I was too old to start a relationship with Jesus, I wouldn’t be on the path I am now. Instead, it is never too late to start that relationship and find that light that comes from that relationship. Finding Jesus can put your life into perspective and help you find clarity in things that may not always make sense. And if you are anything like me, finding Jesus could be just what you need to turn things around.
